5.00pm Gas Alert put into force at 10.55am. Trench strength 30 Officers and 690 Other Ranks. Lance Corporal Kelly (Lewis Rifles), Private Morley ‘B’ Coy, Private Broughton ‘B’ Coy, killed in ‘F’ trenches, and buried at N.27.c.5.8. Eleven Other Ranks Wounded. Heavy shelling till dark.
10.00pm At 10.00pm Battalion was relieved by 5th Battalion Yorkshire regiment and marched by Coy to Kemmel Chateau and came under orders of Officer Commanding 5th Battalion Durham Light Infantry
