Attested 8 September 1914 at Central Recruiting Office City Hall Hull – Initial training in Hull at the Cricket Ground Anlaby Road and on 18 January 1915 to Ousthorpe Camp Pocklington. In May 1915 the 11th Battalion East Yorkshire Regiment joined the 92nd Infantry Brigade of the 31st Division and moved for Divisional training to Penkridge Bank Camp near Rugeley, 18 June 1915 on to South Camp Ripon and then to No 2 camp Hurdcott near Fovant Salisbury – Medal Index Card entered Egypt 22 December 1915 with 11th Battalion East Yorkshire Regiment – Entered Marseilles France 8 March 1916 – Arrived Bertrancourt on the Somme 2 April 1916 – Transferred Machine Gun Corps 153117 – Transferred Class Z Army Reserve 7 March 1920 – With B Coy 13th Section until October 1916 then 1st Battalion from April 1917 – Wounded casualty list Hull Daily Mail 10 November 1917 – October 1917, the meantimes being spent in hospital – Beverley Barracks, Ripon, and Withernsea. Snapper October 1934 – Lives in Dusseldorf Germany
