Hospital – Obituary 2nd Lieutenant Frank Davie, who died of wounds in a London Hospital on 2nd June, was the third son of Mr. John Davie 62 Sunny Bank, Hull. He was educated at the Hull Grammar School, where he won high distinctions in his studies and on the sports field. Then spending a short time with Messrs. Blundell, Spence and Co., and later joined the staff of the Hull Corporation Accountant. After the outbreak of the war, he enlisted, and after quick promotions was drafted to Egypt, and afterwards to France. On February 5th 1917, Lieutenant Davie was the principal figure in an interesting ceremony in the Mayor’s parlour at the Hull Guildhall when he was presented by the Lord Mayor with a Military Medal, which had been awarded for bravery in the field.
