Utton, that he has been wounded in the body by shrapnel shell, and that he is being sent to Manchester Hospital. For the past fourteen months he has acted as Serjeant-Major of the Battalion, and has shown a fine example of courage and devotion to duty, particularly during the operations, when he conducted ammunition and supplies to the front line under heavy fire.
