WAR DIARY
14th May 1915
1am Reported to Colonel Woods Royal Irish Fusiliers in dug out in Square I. 11. D, at edge of wood on East side of road. Cavalry just leaving and firing trenches taken over by Royal Irish Fusiliers.
2am Most of the dugouts still occupied – finally got the Battalion settled as dawn was breaking. B Coy and part of A being sent to dugouts behind Wittepoort Farm and fresh dugouts made inside the wood.
9pm Furnished working parties to dig new line of trenches in order to adjust the line in continuation of the trenches being made by the 3rd Cavalry Division on the North side of the Railway line.
Casualties: – 1730 Pte Hardy C Coy wounded
2168 Pte Barton D Coy wounded
